I've been a longtime follower of Laurence Kim for his practical and applicable photography advice. This book is everything I have come to expect from him! It walks you, in detail, step-by-step through a portrait session from first inquiry through the ordering appointment, pricing strategy, and coaches you how to maximize sales. Even after having done two personal coaching sessions with Laurence, this book is well worth it. With this book I have implemented a few techniques into my workflow, and am happy to have it around for future reference. Within one session this book has paid for itself (and, much, much more).

You'd be silly not to heed Mr. Kim's advice! I've been a long-time follower of his business advice and he shares some gems in this e-book. Clear, concise, and valuable advice which will pay for itself over and over again. I've been shooting weddings and portraits since 2006 and still took pages of notes to put into use in my next portrait consultation. Wish I had read this years ago when I first started out. And I love the step-by-step script detailing steps along the way (with a script included). Only wished I was able to earn a back belt in this business strategy!

What I love about The Portrait Photography Sales Ninja is it outlines a specific action plan and methods that actually work. I've seen firsthand my sales quadruple using the methods Mr. Kim teaches in his book. Everything he does is so effective, from the pre-shoot consultation (super important) through how he shoots the photos, to the sales session after. Every step works together increase sales.
This is exactly what you need to take photography from a "beer money hobby" that is for a lot of people, to a real business. If you aren't already averaging over 1k per session, buy this book! It will contribute way more to your bottom line than that new lens or camera body you've been eyeing ;)
This mini book is packed with good specific ideas that will help photographers generate a better sale. Well written book.
Laurence lays it down like it is . As a photographer it has always been difficult for me to get the business aspect as I have often found intimidating . Laurence Kin makes learning about the business side of photography fun , while providing serious content .
