Thriller/Suspense
Michael Levine a Geophysicist from Texas, meets Johanna Mueller a woman who he thinks is crazy or maybe paranoid. Soon he finds out why. There is a killer on the loose and Johanna does not know who to trust. Add to it there is a black out and the sun will not shine for days, which is causing pandemonium. With this blackening of the sun when people go to sleep they are having some form of hallucination, for that is the only explanation Michael can come up with. Michael is compelled to protect the woman(Johanna) he just met and save her from the killer and the uncertain future.
Fast paced thriller. I look forward to the sequel Concealed.
Darkening Danger by Sammy Sutton left me spellbound. As it drew me deeper into the world of Dr. Michael Levine and Johanna Mueller, I found myself lured into the possibility that we could have this happen in our future. Was this darkness designed by Doctor Levine or is he the solution to it?
Where are we as a world going as we continue on this path of self-delusion and destruction? How long will we keep our heads in the sand to save us from looking within?
Ms. Sutton left me nearly panting for more, on the edge of my seat and wondering if it were possible and how we as a people could avert this. Is this a metaphor for the darkness that reigns in some souls or a reality that may come in time if we continue on our current path?
I highly recommend this book and personally cannot wait for the sequel.
SS has written a SyFy novel that addresses a total failure of the sun due to a total eclipse of the sun by the Moon. The ensuing panic incurred by all was psychotic. The people who planned for the event are able to save their families. This is an excellent read for th genre.....ER
A surprisingly quick read.
It had action, suspense and sex. I wasn't sure what the story would be when it started because of all the story lines and settings, but it all came together.
Why did Joanna fake her name?

I enjoyed this book.
A scary enjoyable story told from the first-person perspectives of the two main characters, Darkening Danger holds a mirror up to the thoughts of the two protagonists who see only darkness reflected within the glass. I liked their struggle to retain sanity as the world comes apart around them and I particularly liked the open-ended final scene leaving us with the potential for a sequel.

The writer does a great job of setting up the plot and creating interesting characters. The book moves along at a good pace, however I end up with too many questions. The sun goes out and the main character knows why it's happening, I think, but we are never told why. Why has the sun gone out? Why will it come back in three days? Why has it gotten dark but not cold? Why is the air too thin to support aircraft flight but people can still breathe? Why have the lights, the energy gride gone out? And why does our hero stop in the middle of the apocalypse to play bondage games with the gal who may or may not have some answers to what is going on? Ok ten out of ten for style but minus several million for good thinking.
In these stressful times, most of us welcome a good book that helps us escape, or, for those of you who remember the old TV commercials, a good Calgon-Take-Me-Away moment. Sammy Sutton's DARKENING DANGER, a prequel to her novel, CONCEALED, is just the ticket for anyone who wants to be absorbed in a great story.
The two main characters, Michael Levine and Johanna Mueller, meet unconventionally and their relationship takes a fast ride from Go! They must learn (quickly!) to deal with their feelings toward one another, learn to trust, handle a killer on the loose, and survive in a darkening danger that threatens all of humanity.
The author writes an exciting and fast-paced story that takes the reader right to the doorstep of darkness and all of its secrets and dangers. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read CONCEALED.
